I have a 1996 Buick Park Avenue and when the "ac" is on there is a noise which sounds like the fan. I temporarily replaced the fan with a new one and no change, so I put old one back in. The noise disappears when the vent is activated and the "ac" turns off. I can hear the fan still running but no noise, also the fan will run quietly at all speeds.
